My favorite book is "Life and Death Are Wearing Me Out "by Mo yan.

Mo Yan 

Is a magical realist writer. He always write about  his hometown Gao Mi, and what ordinary people to do in the  big historical environment. It is often ironic about actual social issues.
His words usually hard to understand, because in his novels, he often describes the protagonist's delusions and reality in a synchronous way, making it difficult to identify what is true and what is false.

Book's Name

The book's Chinese Pinyin original name is "Sheng Si Pi Lao".It mains that live is fatigue, but after you died, you also fatigue. It's something fate you cannot revolt.

Summary

The protagonist Ximeng tun was a landlord since the People's Republic of China was established. China government start Land reform, which mains confiscation all of land and property from landlord, and distribution those thing to the poor peasantry.
 Some times landlords were killed by people's angry.
 Although Ximen tun be kind to his tenant, do farm work himself. He still get killed , just because he is the landlord. He was resentful, and also worried about his wife. 
His soul has entered hell. Because he has a deep resentment for his own death, and nostalgia for the human world, he was judged by the judge of hell that he could not reincarnate as a human. 
He must reincarnate as a beast into the human world until he does not miss his time as a human being.
Since then, Ximen has been turned into a scorpion, a pig, a dog, and a monkey. Every time he reincarnates into the human world, he will carry his own memories of his life and serve the human society as a beast. Until he stopped his resentment for his death, Ximeng Tun was born into a deformed child named Lan Jiefang. The defoened child remember anything about Ximentun, he narritive the whole novel.

About This Novel

In his novels, Mo Yan describes the details of the life of a large number of rural people and their traditional ideas. 
However, on the basis of the actual description, many elements of Chinese folk beliefs are added.
 For example, Because the protagonist’s nostalgia for his life, he was sentenced to have to reincarnate and become a beast to serve human until he had no attachment to his past life. 
After it, he could reborn into a human While the protagonist was reincarnation, China successively experienced a series of great social changes such as land reform, people's communes, the Great Leap Forward, and the Cultural Revolution. 
The author describes the changes that China has experienced with a third-person perspective, that's way I like this book.
